Privacy Policy
- We do not sell your personal data or share it with marketers.
- We do not store your password. Authentication is handled by our identity provider.
- We may share anonymized, aggregated rotation feedback with potential program sponsors such as TAP, VA, DoD, or similar partners.
- We use personal information to run the program: account access, squad assignment, logistics, communications, safety, and support.
- Brotherhood is not a medical, therapy, counseling, emergency, or crisis-response service.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Brotherhood Labs LLC ("Brotherhood," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, mobile application, communications, programs, and related services.
Brotherhood is built as a cohort-based accountability and transition-support platform. Some features involve squad participation, check-ins, program feedback, direct messages, shared activity, and administrative review.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, authentication identifier, and account status.
- Profile and onboarding information: branch, MOS/rate, deployment history, shirt size, address or shipping details, mission selections, and similar program details you provide.
- Program activity: squad assignment, check-ins, reflections, rotation participation, score or progress data, invites, messages, replies, reactions, GIFs, uploaded media, and feedback or survey responses.
- Notification and device information: push notification tokens, mobile device identifiers provided by Apple, Google, Expo, or Firebase, notification preferences, and delivery status needed to send operational notifications.
- Technical information: cookies, session data, device/browser/app details, log data, IP address, crash or diagnostic information, and usage information needed to operate and secure the service.
- Communications: emails, support requests, contact form submissions, and messages you send through Brotherhood.
3. Passwords and Authentication
We do not store your password in Brotherhood's application database. Password-based authentication is handled by our identity provider, and Brotherhood receives authentication tokens or identifiers that allow us to keep you signed in and connect your account to your program record.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts;
- run rotations, squads, check-ins, invitations, and program operations;
- send operational emails, notifications, and program communications;
- deliver chat, direct messages, push notifications, media, and other participant communications;
- support onboarding, shipping, logistics, safety, and participant support;
- review reports, enforce community standards, moderate content, and respond to user concerns;
- monitor service performance, prevent misuse, and protect account security;
- evaluate and improve Brotherhood programs, content, and user experience;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share personal data with marketers for their own advertising.
We may share information in the following limited situations:
- Service providers: vendors that help us host the application, authenticate users, send email, deliver push notifications, store media, provide GIF or image functionality, analyze operations, or provide technical support. These may include services such as Firebase, Expo, email providers, hosting providers, database providers, and media providers.
- Program operations: limited information with administrators, squad leaders, or participants when needed for normal Brotherhood functionality.
- Anonymized or aggregated feedback: end-of-rotation survey results, testimonials, engagement metrics, or program feedback may be shared with potential or current sponsors, including TAP, VA, DoD, or similar organizations, when the information has been anonymized or aggregated so it does not identify you personally.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or to respond to lawful requests.
- Business changes: if Brotherhood is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that process subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Cookies, Sessions, and Mobile Notifications
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember display preferences, protect the service, and support core application functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies may prevent Brotherhood from working correctly.
If you enable push notifications in the mobile app, we store a notification token so we can send operational messages such as chat alerts, account notices, and program reminders. You can disable notifications through your device settings. Brotherhood does not require you to enable push notifications in order to access the core service.
7. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to operate Brotherhood, support users, maintain program records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information for research, reporting, and program improvement.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong password, protect your account access, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Your Choices
You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information by contacting us. Some information may need to be retained for legitimate operational, legal, security, or recordkeeping reasons.
You may also report abusive content, safety concerns, or misuse through the in-app Contact Command option or the participant support channel. Brotherhood may review related account, message, and activity information to respond to those reports.
10. Health, Wellness, and Crisis Information
Brotherhood is a personal-development, accountability, and peer-support platform. It is not therapy, medical care, mental health treatment, counseling, diagnosis, emergency response, or crisis intervention. We do not use the service to diagnose, treat, or provide professional medical or mental health advice.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services, a qualified professional, or an appropriate crisis support resource immediately.
11. Children
Brotherhood is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice through the application or by email.
13. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy, your information, or content/safety concerns can be sent through the in-app Contact Command option or by emailing Brotherhood Labs LLC at command@brotherhoodlabs.com.
